S.O.S


The SOS program is a diagnostic tool that is designed to help owners of Caterpillar & other equipment to reduce unnecessary downtime and operating costs of their machines. Our major aims are to maximize equipment life, detect potential problems early, shorten downtime and maintain maintenance schedules and practices.

S.O.S oil analysis is a valuable management tool that can maximise equipment life and productivity, and minimise operating costs and downtime. Four types of analysis are performed on engine, hydraulics and drivetrain oil.


• Wear Rate monitors and tracks metal wear particles, contaminants and oil additive package elements.

• Oil Condition compares used oil to new oil to see if it is providing adequate lubrication and protection.

• Oil Cleanliness determines if abrasive contaminants are causing accelerated wear.

• Additional Tests detect water, glycolor fuel in oil.


Take oil samples at consistent intervals to detect potential problems early, reduce repair costs and lessen the impact of downtime.

Standard 3748 is William Adams Total Support Guarantee that gives you unrivalled product support for three years. When you purchase an eligible Cat machine the Standard 3748 package is included. The Standard 3748 program has been in existence since July 2002, with more than 900 machines on the program and still growing.
3748 Includes:
• All scheduled maintenance to 3 years or 3700/4800 hours (dependent on machine model).
• For 7 days per week, 12 hours per day machine servicing – no overtime and no travel charges.
• Condition monitoring – all SOS sampling and interpretation
• 48 hour uptime guarantee including back up machine
• All genuine Cat parts used, fitted by factory trained technicians
• Option to extend support package once initial period is complete

 
 

Field Service Fleet


All branches support a field service team. Each service unit comprises of a vehicle fully equipped with the necessary tooling for out in the field repairs. The majority of the field service vehicles are Nissan Patrols, with a 6 cylinder Diesel engine, turbo charged and intercooled, with a towing capacity of 2300kgs.

Additionally, William Adams also operates specialised lube trucks for servicing your machines on site. These vehicles provide fast turn-around in all periodic servicing. Each truck is backed up by the Condition Monitoring Centre at Clayton, enabling the investigation of oil samples and diagnosis of potential problems by examining oil composition, wear particle size and type, and wear trends.

With a comprehensive branch network across Victoria and Tasmania with more than 100 service vehicles available on call, and 300 service technicians, William Adams will meet your business and machine needs.
