Our customers’ requirements dictate that not all service work is of a workshop nature. There are occasions for field service work and when these occasions arise, the William Adams field service team swings into action. All branches support a field service team. Each service unit comprises of a vehicle fully equipped with the necessary tooling and communication is via mobile telephones.

The majority of the field service vehicles are of the four-wheel-drive type to gain access to our customers’ worksites. The standard tooling is carried in the vehicles at all times to respond to breakdowns and our Field Service staff are linked to comprehensive parts and service information electronically through our Service Information System (SIS). Any requirements for special tooling are be drawn from the toolstores at the branches. These specialised tooling totals in excess of $10 million stocked in all the branch toolstores.

William Adams have a fleet of over 60+ Nissan Patrols with a 6 cylinder Diesel engine, turbo charged and intercooled, with a towing capacity of 2300kgs. They are fitted with a vast range of tooling and equipment to provide comprehensive service and repair out in the field. Some additional features are a Maxlift hydraulic crane control rated at 1 tone/mtr, a rotary screw compressor rated at 70cfm at 175 psi, and CP air tooling.

Additionally, William Adams also operates specialised lube trucks for servicing our customers’ machines on site. These vehicles provide fast turn-around in all periodic servicing. The trucks are equipped with the necessary hose reels and fluid tanks for fast drain and replenishment of the machine’s fluids. All waste fluids are extracted and carried away for ‘friendly’ environmental disposal
